Rock Nest

In 1999 it was reported by the press that
in New York's Central Park Zoo, were performing
behaviors typically seen in mating penguin couples.
They had made a nest together, and seemed to be
trying to hatch a rock that resembled an egg.
Since then scientists in the field have found rocks
in various nests and have concluded that many
rocks feel compelled to occupy empty nests,
in the hope of being adopted by a same sex
couple of any of the avian species.
